The radio and reviews keep coming

I did two radio shows about the book very early this morning. One was live, on the syndicated Cable Radio Network (broadcasting apparently mostly on cable TV systems) AM Show with Jack Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a very cordial host who allowed me to explain Burning Man at length.

I also taped an interview about the book and Burning Man with Nathan Hole that will be part of a segment on KUOM-FM in Minneapolis, 106.5. I'm told it is scheduled to air this Sunday morning, somewhere in the 9-10 a.m. hour central time. I'll already be baking on the playa by then if all goes well.

Also, Mother Jones--a magazine for which I used to write and review books, but not since 1999 or so--reviews the book in its Sept./Oct. issue. The magazine just starting hitting subscribers hands today, and does not appear to be online yet. But the review, by Michelle Chihara, is a smart short summation of Burning Man and the book, and concludes that my book "is an intelligent and exhaustive effort to chronicle the explosion of one of American's most implausible subcultures."
